More Style, Less Waste

The Laws of Physics apply to everyday life; letting things take their natural course will allow the generation of their momentum. According to the artist, influencer, and sustainable fashion advocate Laura Madden, "You don't need to understand the wavelengths of light and refraction to be in awe at the beauty of a rainbow." In Laura's philosophy, she is right in the middle of things taking their natural course in creating more style and less waste. Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Laura was always sketching, drawing, and fascinated with the works of the great Masters gracing the walls of the local museums. Interestingly, she said, "I never realized that being a painter was a career option." However, Laura did know that fashion design was an option as she observed her grandmother and aunt, who were admired fashion icons of their day.

Laura attended the University of New Hampshire to complete her Bachelor's degree in Science in Kinesiology/Exercise Science. She is a certified Holistic Lifestyle Coach through the online Chek Institute and is a certified Transformational Life Coach through The Southwest Institute of Healing Arts in Scottsdale, Arizona. Laura was adjunct faculty at Scottsdale Community College, where she was a trainer and group instructor. Her focus on health and wellness paved the way for her passion for building a sustainable lifestyle and holistic fashion design. Over the years, Laura has found the wisdom of redesigning one's life. She is brilliant in her ability to repurpose and create interior design elements, reconstruct wearable fashion design, and draws inspiration from nature, architecture, and unused or reclaimed objects.

The move to Phoenix, Arizona, with her husband Ed's job transfer, provided the perfect opportunity for Laura to reimagine how she wanted to move her dreams of sustainability ahead. She set up a studio on their home's property and went to work. Soon, neighbors, friends, and relatives were looking for her assistance to reimagine their homes, personal fashion, and creative energies.

"My motivation is fueled by my desire to help others live a stylish lifestyle while lowering their impact on the planet by creating less waste in their lives. The process is done with sustainability practices while enhancing the interior and exterior environments in which we live and work." She describes her work as "Layers of originality; each piece has its history and story. I love to mix the old and new, ornate and minimal, such as pairing Contemporary Art with an antique frame." She is the ultimate surface texture guru in all the mediums she produces. It's Laura's way of creating impact without using excess color.

The one thing for sure about the artist, sustainable fashion advocate, and influencer Laura Madden is she is a mover and shaker. When asked about her future aspirations, without hesitation, she states, "I want to get my work out to a broader audience, out of the local market. I want to develop product lines such as furniture and textiles and collaborate with other designers in various fields."

Laura's momentum has flagged the attention of publications such as Modern Luxury Scottsdale, So Scottsdale, AZ Redbook, Green Living, and the iconic Life Magazine. She is a global ambassador for the nonprofit Remake, where she also serves on the board. Her board service extends to the Arizona Costume Institute, Fashion Group International, and San Francisco Fashion Community Week. Laura's ReFashioned Art is a certified Gold Level Greek Business with the City of Phoenix Green Business Program. She sums up her passion as, "I share my experiences, passion, and what I know to be true for me. I trust that doing so will empower and inspire you." In the spirit of creativity and free sharing, Laura Madden, in coordination with others, build wellness and sustainable communities that are of the mind and heart for all those willing to make the journey.
